Boston rapper Slaine, of the rap super group, La Coka Nostra, has announced an October 26th release date for his upcoming debut solo album, “A World With No Skies”. The album will surface on Suburban Noize Records and is slated to feature guest appearances by Everlast, Cypress Hill’s B-Real, Vinnie Paz of Jedi Mind Tricks, and ILL BILL. Slaine is currently streaming material online at
http://www.myspace.com/slainehiphop.
“Even though I started my career as a solo artist by hustling my ‘The White Man is the Devil’ mixtapes, I think people are more familiar with me from Special Teamz and La Coka Nostra,” commented Slaine. “With this album I set out to create a soundscape that brings you into my world as an individual which is a fucked up place to be. It is hard, dark and aggressive from the beats to the lyrics, and a deeply personal trip through my life and the things that made me who I am today. A ‘World With No Skies’ is a look into my psyche and a vision of my dreams, nightmares, and realities.”
Slaine will appear alongside Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) as bank robbers in the upcoming movie “The Town” featuring Jon Hamm (Mad Men). The film is scheduled to hit theaters across the country on September 17th, 2010

La Coka Nostra's Slaine Featured In New Freddy Madball Video For ‘Gunshots’
La Coka Nostra's Slaine has joined forces with New York hardcore legend Freddy Madball in the video for the song "Gunshots", which can be viewed below. The track appears on Freddy Madball's hip-hop solo album, "Catholic Guilt", which was released through Familia Entertainment.
"I'm excited to be working alongside my homie Slaine and my man Jaysaun. I think these guys are some of the best MC's in the game, and they happen to be family,” commented Freddy Madball. “As I embark on this hip-hop journey, I intend to make a statement, and who better to do that with then these guys and with this song. The video speaks for itself. Respect."
“Aside from being the frontman to one of the greatest hardcore bands ever, Freddy Madball has been a friend for damn near 15 years now. He always had wisdom and encouragement for me when I first started doing my thing as an MC in the late nineties,” commented Slaine. “When he was working on this hip-hop project he reached out to me, and Jaysaun to do a joint, and we made a banger. I’m sure this won’t be the last time you see us collaborating. For the video, we shot it in Brockton, Boston and New York, and visited the gravesite of our fallen brother ‘Boston’ Mike Foster.”
Slaine has been grinding his way throughout the underground hip-hop scene since 2001 when he cut a demo in a studio operated by the Lordz of Brooklyn. Since then, Slaine has been traveling the world performing for his growing fan base, and working with hip-hop icons such as DJ Premier, House of Pain, Cypress Hill, and The Alchemist. Slaine is currently touring in support of, "A Brand You Can Trust", the debut album from hip-hop supergroup La Coka Nostra.
